LAWRENCE HARVEY 7TH BEST COMPANY TO WORK FOR IN THE UK!
The London-based company has risen from 34th place last year thanks to its upbeat and supportive approach to 68 employees. The average age is 27, 35 people joined in the past year, and they feel jobs are good for personal growth (a 95%, top-two positive score). Several are being supported to take qualifications, while everyone has internal coaching and feedback. Last year the firm began a global exchange scheme giving consultants opportunities abroad.
Recently employees felt they weren’t being heard so there’s a new focus on bosses (90%) and the senior team listening rather than telling people what to do (92%). The result is that My Manager is the joint-best factor for this company (a top-five score of 91%). It also scores well for My Team (93%, and also ranked fifth overall).
The group’s mission is “to become the recognised market leaders in our specialist areas and to do it together”. Its values spell a slogan: LHTiD stands for laughter, honesty, teamwork, integrity and dedication and “employees who become parents are always sent LHTiD-branded baby all-in-ones for their newborns”, the company says.
There’s a strong sense of family (93%), and the firm offers people with three years’ service boosted maternity pay, and flexibility for working dads. One father does 3½ days a week to be with his children more and everyone has the technology to operate from home (or on the nursery and school run).
